The Passthru Emulator program allows you to emulate the operation of the passthru adapter connected to the car ECU. Before you start working with the emulator, you must run the configuration file "j25342emu.exe" (for the 04.04 interface) or "j2534emu.exe" (for the 02.02 interface), click the "Write" and "OK" buttons. Also, during configuration, you can select to write or not to write a log file with checkmarks and, if you write, then in detail or not. For the 04.04 interface, it is possible to set the timings P1 (inter-byte delay) and P2 (delay between packets from the ECU) of the "virtual ECU", as well as set the adapter ID, if necessary. With the "DevID auto-generation" checkbox selected, the adapter ID is randomly generated when the emulator dll library is called.
As a result of the configurator’s work, the registry will display information about the “New Passthru adapter”, which is read by programs that work with Passthru adapters:
The emulator itself is a file "J25342EMU.dll" (04.04) or "J2534EMU.dll" (02.02). If the emulator is configured to write the log, then it writes it to the folder where the dll file of the emulator is registered in the registry and it has the name "j25342emu.log" ("j2534emu.log").
The emulator settings file "j25342emu.ini" ("j2534emu.ini") consists of pairs of request-response lines in the HEX form, that is, the emulator receives a sequence of bytes - "request" from the diagnostic program, starts looking for it in this file, and if it finds, then it issues a response to the diagnostic program corresponding to the pair. You can edit the ini-file in parallel with the diagnostic program - the changes take effect immediately after saving this file.
