In older Subaru models, these are the tools used to access Subaru models.
The SSM 1.2.5 is PC-based and works on older Subaru models without a CAN, only on K-Line.
Works with XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10. The application accesses the complete engine and gear diagnosis from SSM.
Used USB cable:
VAG-K + CAN USB (sometimes KKL or K Plus Can)
Or (FTDI) FT232BL USB
Used Android tools:
STRO-CAN application
Used USB cable: VAG-K + CAN USB or (FTDI) FT232BL USB with OTG cable if Android is supported
ActiveOBD application for Android
Bluetooth Obdlink MX+
iOS version of the ActiveOBD application
Needs a high-quality Bluetooth device such as the Obdlink MX+
These tools mentioned are not OBD II, these applications are real SSM (Subaru Select Monitor)
I use these tools for these older vehicles because they are quick and easy.
With the PC or Android, the screen can be recorded for playback / reference. : PC/ Camtasia and Android> Azrecorder
The USB connections have a much faster update rate than Bluetooth, but all work perfectly for these older models.
