ZF MERITOR TRANSSOFT IS A DIAGNOSTIC PROGRAM FOR FREEDOMLINE AND SURESHIFT TRANSMISSIONS. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST IN THE REPAIR OF TRANSMISSIONS ZF MERITOR LLC.
FreedomLine Diagnostics:
1 ) SAE and ISO Faults
2 ) Position and Speed Sensors
3 ) Lever, Solenoid, Clutch and Accelerator Pedal Information
4 ) Enhanced TCU, J1939, J1587 and Miscellaneous Information
5 ) Graphs, trigger setup and playback
6 ) Logging and Exporting
7 ) Component Test
8 ) Enhanced EEPROM Reads/Writes
9 ) Help
10) FTP Update
11) TransSoft Shell with Help, Language, Adapter Settings
and application selection (SureShift/FreedomLine).
12) Minor GUI updates including: default to decimal for EOL read/set parameters,
removed Transmission Sensor Temperature, allow decimal/hex settings to change
prior to entering data, removal clear faults request after playback, modified
directions for EOL set functionality, grayed out brake switch label and
separated high byte and low byte for Read EOL with a space instead of a comma.
SureShift Diagnostics:
1 ) EEPROM Writes
2 ) ECU and ABS active fault counts
3 ) Trigger Options menu selection
4 ) Start Trigger command button on the main dialog
5 ) J1939 information found under the new Advanced menu
6 ) Recording of J1939 data and the ability to process to a text file
7 ) Validates the Noregon JPRO J1708 API version, if a supported
device is used for communication
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Insert the ZF Meritor TransSoft 2.1 CD into the CD-ROM drive.
- If auto-run fails to start the installation, using Windows Explorer,
navigate to the CD-ROM drive, access the Setup file located at
"<CD-ROM Drive>:Setup.exe" and double-click the file. Setup
will begin the installation.
- Follow the remaining prompts presented by the installation program.

HARDWARE / SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION:
The minimum hardware requirements for the SureShift and
FreedomLine Diagnostics modules are listed below:
1. Pentium II processor with a clock speed of no less than 233 MHz
2. 32 MB RAM
3. 100 MB free hard disk space
4. A CD-ROM drive for program installation
5. System motherboard having one real 16550 compatible UART chip (not firmware emulated)
6. Standard UART configurations (COM1=0x3f8, COM2=0x2f8, LPT1=0x378 IRQ7)
7. A display resolution of 800x600 pixels and the ability to display 256 colors
The supported operating systems are listed below:
Windows 98 - Commercial or later
Windows ME
Windows NT 4.0 - SP 3 or 4
Windows 2000 - SP1
Windows XP Professional, SP1
The supported adapters are listed below:
Noregon PLC - Version 2.5 drivers or greater
Noregon DLA - Version 1.9.4 drivers or greater
NEXIQ PDM - Version 2.7.1 drivers or greater
Dearborn Group PDA Version - 2.8 drivers or greater
Cummins InLine Adapter II - Version 4.06 drivers or greater
Caterpillar Adapter - Version 2.2 drivers or greater
Note:
The Dearborn Adapter (DPA) was observed to fail during SureShift
testing when bus loads reached typical in-vehicle levels.
