First: To know which Comand system you have(much appreciate would be complete VIN)
Second: To download the corresponding Maps Version for your system
Third: Depending Comand system(NTG 4.5 see below without CODE) you need or not a six digit code for activation.
Thats all!
Be aware if you want to update a imported car from other REGION, that you have to change this on your Comand System.
Example: USA CAR imported to EUROPE = change REGION from USA to ECC.

This topic for those who want to update navigation map on NTG 4.5-4.7 for free (without PIN code) but does not have original navigation updata disk.
Ive made a collection of map updates (only required files from first DVD) which could help you to update your navigation to the latest version.
It took time to collect all variants for Russia ... but I got it.
It was a bit harder to find and download old updates for Europe ... but It got some of them and I hope that they will help you.

The latest updates can be obtained by Mercedes download manager.
Here is version 1.0.14. It has modified config version to stop asking to update it. With this modification it still works well
