It's a solution that allows you to use any SD card, making everything much easier!
Unlocks:
Modified RNS 310 Firmware Unlock CID
burn dvd or cd with this iso image, you can use nero (recommended) or other program but with slow speed 1x or more!
Just insert a DVD or CD into the RNS310 car stereo and it will unlock the RNS310, i.e. release it from CID!
Be careful though:
1) use "02xx unlock disc2" and burn this image if your RNS310 car radio has 02XX firmware like 0231 or similar
2) use "03xx_unlock" and burn this image if your RNS310 car stereo has 03XX firmware like 0351, 0357 or similar
CID unlocking must be done with ENGINE RUNNING, the current CANNOT disappear.. the running engine powers the battery, so there is no risk that with a dead battery, the car radio will turn off with irreparable damage due to interrupt firmware unlock
After inserting dvd or cd follow the instructions in the video and after reboot rns310 car radio is unlocked so now no cid limitation now you can use any sd card for navigation and it is always x then if you have 02xx firmware and update go to version 03xx then you have to repeat the whole procedure with unlocking for firmware 03xx !!!
So take any SD card min. 8GB max. 32GB, format it in FAT32 with Windows and copy the CRYPTNAV folder inside and your RNS310 has an updated navigator!
note tested by me....often or almost always with these CID unlocks, when restarting the car radio, it asks for a code or pass to unlock the car radio, which also happens when the car battery is disconnected or if it removes the radio from the car and then puts it back back to another... when the car is restarted the radio asks for the code.
This code is found in the car's owner's manual or car documents and comes with all documents when buying a car....
This does not apply to all car radios, but many, i.e. those that have an unlocking code as standard.
The RNS310 shouldn't have it, at least I did the whole procedure and it didn't ask me for any unlock code when rebooting the RNS310 after unlocking the cid, but if you do, make sure you have the unlock code as a precaution.
